User Manual
When you first bring home a new snowmobile, make sure to spend some quality time with the user manual. This booklet will contain important, model-specific instructions on how to maintain your snowmobile. Store the user manual somewhere on board the vehicle for quick reference.
Inspection
Always take the time to inspect your snowmobile before each ride. Check the fluid levels, test the brakes, and examine the tracks and skis for wear and tear. If you discover any repair needs, make sure to address them right away, before they can interfere with safety and performance.
Cleaning
Cleaning your snowmobile is necessary to prevent corrosion. Remove snow, ice, and debris from the exterior of your sled after each ride, and give your snowmobile a deep clean every once in a while. Make sure your snowmobile is squeaky clean before it heads into storage.
Storage
Most snowmobiles spend a few months each year in a garage or shed. Before you retire your snowmobile for the season, make sure to add a fuel stabilizer to the fuel system. You should also apply a coat of protectant to all the exposed metal surfaces of your motor sled prior to storage.
